SARGASSUM aka HAI ZAO has been used in Chinese medicines for over 2,000 years. Some beaches and beachgoers consider this seaweed a nuisance due to it washing up on beaches. The issue comes when it washes up in large amounts, which it usually does and it begins to create hydrogen sulfide which is a gas like smell that smells similarly to a rotten egg.
Many may not know this but sargassum, which we now sell in our store, has many many uses. Just to name a few, it helps to treat and soften tumors, it has anti-inflammatory activities, anti-cancerous and even helps to break down phlegm from cold and flu.
Sargassum, not only helps with improving the body but it is also an all natural fertilizer and with the high nutrient-dense macroalgae it is rich in minerals and has water soluble polysaccharides and phenolic compounds which enhances soil health, quality, productivity and enzymatic activities.
